String Challenge

Blood Splatter

When I bought the red yarn, my intention was to just get a color that would stand out and be noticeable but then as I started experimenting with the yarn it reminded me of the show Dexter and how he would analyze blood splatter. So I went off of that and tried to duplicate something that looked like Dexter's blood splatter analyst.

Since I was out of town while doing this challenge, I liked the idea of leaving a mark of some sort. So I cut up some pieces of yarn and tied them on different things around town. I thought it would be cool to make people stop for a second and think to themselves, "Why is there a red string tied to this?"

Yarn + Water = Yarn in Water

I put a piece of yarn in water overnight to see what would happen to it. I thought that the yarn would unravel into smaller pieces of string but in reality, the yarn was so lightweight that it just floated on top of the water and didn't do anything. The water didn't even soak all the way through the yarn.

Cats Cradle

The balcony of the hotel we were staying in had a cool fencing, so I took the yarn and started to tie it around the fence. It reminded me of a cats cradle and I ended up keeping it there all weekend.

Illusion

When I was doing the blood splatter look a like, I noticed that the mirror had a interesting look with the yarn just hanging in front of it. It looks like there are more then 6 pieces of yarn hanging and at first doesn't even look like it is hanging in front of the mirror.

Water Challenge

Ink in the Water
For this challenge it took a little more thought for me because I was out of town all weekend, so I had to use what was available to me. I decided to use Ink and Water for this challenge. I have always loved the way ink looks when it is mixed with water and wanted to see the different shapes I could get out of dropping ink into water multiple times.

While I was making a total mess in the bathroom, I noticed that I spilt some of the ink into the sink and it had a really cool looking affect.

Body Marks

Foot Circles

When I was a kid I used to put my heel in the sand and spin around and make a circle, so I decided to recreate that.

Stuff Your Face

For this I bought a cup cake and stuffed my face! There was a ton of icing so I only got a little bite out of the actual cupcake!

Tic-Tac Toe

I remember playing tic-tac toe using scratch marks on my thigh when I was little, so I recreated this moment too.

Goodbye Kisses

Before I would go to school when I was little my mom would kiss my hang and leave a lipstick mark, so I kissed my nieces hand and told her the story.

Dill Pickels

I looked at the different bite marks I made while eating a pickle

With Love

After a shower I wrote "With Love" in the mirror......its really hard to tell what it says in the picture.

Finger Prints = Baby Foot Prints

When the windows would fog up in the car, we would make hand prints on the windows to make them look like little foot prints. I did this with acrylic paint.

Happy Apple

My niece was eating an happy so I made a face in it to make her snack a little more fun :-)

Teenage Heartthrob

Recently I found a vintage magazine with this beautiful image of Leonardo Dicaprio and so I left my mark on it :-)
